Supply Chain
Commodities
In the assembly and test of a wide range of engine control systems, material supply is often complex and varied.
Mechanical commodities procured include machining of various metals such as aluminium, inconel, titanium and magnesium.
Electronic controls require the procurement of circuit card assemblies, connectors, wiring and chassis assemblies.
The engine control systems are completed by the sourcing of various bought-out items such as permanent magnet alternators, servovalves and linear variable displacement transformers (LVDTs).
Strategies
As the commercial pressure from our customers continues to increase, we must be flexible and able to meet these challenges.
Our pursuit of cost reduction within the supply chain has led us to various sourcing solutions around the world, working with suppliers to maximize the benefits for everyone.
The need for lower volume, more technically able suppliers in the U.K. continues to support the legacy, stranger and military product ranges, together with the design and development needs of the new product introduction teams.
