Qualification

Aero Engine Controls' testing and certification facilities enable us to integrate and validate complete engine control systems. This means that we can fully support our customers' system development and verification programs.

Our latest Environmental System Test Facility (ESTF) is built around a real-time engine simulator linked to a computer-controlled environmental test rig. This enables validated engine models to be controlled by complete electronic and hydro-mechanical control systems throughout the extremes of fuel and environmental temperatures. This closed-loop testing reduces risk early in the integration phase, and by using the built-in fault insertion and data acquisition tools can also be used to validate the system design and analysis to support certification.

Aero Engine Controls performs all unit functional and environmental tests required for certification. The majority of this testing is carried out in house using purpose designed facilities, however we also have established relationships with a range of external specialist test houses.
